Your course starts with initial trainer kite practice. We teach you how to fly kites and understand wind theory. You then move on to inflatables (the North Rebel kite) and learn ‘set-up’, launching and landing. Body dragging is the next stage, where you pilot the kite upwind and downwind whilst in the water; and finally waterstarts and getting up on the board for your first few runs.

Camber Sands Kitesurfing Lessons
Kitesurfing on the South Coast offers varied conditions, but we are able to run our kitesurf lessons at some great locations. Our main teaching beach is Camber Sands, on the Kent and Sussex border, it has consistent onshore breezes throughout the season, and shallow water due to a tidal range of about a mile. This vast sandy expanse, and waist deep water, enables our pupils to progress rapidly. Camber Sands has become one of the most renowned beaches for kitesurfing lessons in the UK. Our kitesurf lessons in Kent are run at Greatstone, another superb location with shallow water. Because of our position, on the tip of the South East Coast, if the wind changes direction we always have some great beaches in Kent and Sussex to run our kitesurf courses from.
London might seem a million miles away, but a kitesurfing lesson or three day course can easily be achieved by commuting, but ... it's much more fun to escape!
The Lakeside Kitesurf Centre
To say our lakeside centre is unique is no exaggeration; most kitesurfing schools have to operate from a van or shop. Camber Sands, our main teaching beach is only three minutes away. Partners or friends, who don’t fancy kitesurfing, can spend the day at the lake windsurfing and sailing, or just sunbathe and enjoy food from our ‘Windy Daze Café’.
And after your kitesurfing lesson it’s perfect for the debrief, chilling out on the decking drinking a beer or enjoying a cappuccino, whilst watching the sun set over the lake, and the medieval town of Rye.
Rye town, with its cobbled streets, tea shops, bars, art galleries and antique shops, is only a ten minute walk away. A perfect place to while away a few hours, or stay overnight to make a week-end of it. Whatever your passsion, kitesurfing, windsurfing or sailing, this spot on the south coast will fulfil all your expectations.
Kitesurf Equipment
The latest equipment is essential when you learn to kitesurf. We only teach with the safest kites on the market, - the North Rebel, the versatile bow/hybrid kite which is great for beginners, but also used by pros on the circuit. All our kit is renewed regularly.
Kitesurfing Safety
As with any extreme sport safety is a main consideration. Our centre is BKSA and RYA recognised and holds an ‘AALA Licence’ that authorises us to teach children under 18 years of age.
Post Kitesurfing Course Advice - Kitesurfing Sales
We are always happy to give any advice you might need at the end of your kitesurfing lesson. We have complete kitesurf packages you can buy, and if you need to buddy up with someone to go to the beach with, we can sort that out too.
